Martin will serve as temporary head of Quincy public schools

Quincy Superintendent Lonny Lemon will retire by July 1. The district will have former business manager Bud Martin fill his post on a temporary basis.

QUINCY, ILL. -- Retired Quincy School District Business Manager Bud Martin said he will serve as the interim superintendent for up to 60 days as the district searches for a full-time replacement for outgoing superintendent Lonny Lemon.

Lemon announced last week that he would take the superintendent's position at the Oak Grove School District near the Chicago suburb of Libertyville.
