HANNIBAL, MO. -- Hannibal customers will see an increase on their utility bills later this summer.

Thursday night, the Hannibal Board of Public works approved three rate increases.

The hike will help offset the cost of infrastructure improvements to meet new DNR and EPA regulations.

Residential customers will see a 3 percent increase in their electrical rate.

That increase will not affect commercial and industrial customers.

All customers will see a 10 percent increase in their water rate and an 8 percent increase in their sewer rates.

The hikes go into effect July 1st.

Customers will be notified before then.
