A Quincy man was jailed on a battery charged after a member of his family struck him in the head with a vase.

Brian Yates, 38, was charged Tuesday with domestic battery after Quincy police investigators were sent to a home in the 600 block of Harrison Drive.

Investigators were told that Yates had struck a member of his family. In return, the family member struck him with a vase causing several lacerations, according to a press release.

Yates was treated and released at Blessing Hospital. He was taken to the Adams County Jail.

The family member involved in the dispute has not been charged.
