Pike County, Mo. enacted a burn ban Friday, June 22.

A release from the county said that it had reenacted an ordinance prohibiting burning of any materials in the county.

“The lack of rain and continuing windy conditions make this ban necessary,” the release says.

The ban will remain in place until further notice.

The Hannibal Rural Fire Protection District and Hannibal Fire Department issued similar bans earlier this week. Click here for that story.

Adams County is currently not under a burn ban, Tri-Township Fire Department Assistant Chief Darren Smith said.

There are currently no bans in place for counties in southeast Iowa.

If your municipality is under a burn ban, please email the information to news7@khqa.com or fax at 217-222-5078.
