Would not affect businesses already in operation
HANNIBAL, MO. -- The Hannibal City Council turned its attentions to two ordinances at the Tuesday night meeting.
Our news partners at WTAD report that the council gave first reading to an ordinance that would prevent sexually oriented business from opening near schools, churches and other types of public areas.
It does not affect similar business already operating in the city.
The council also tabled an ordinance that would have given bidding preferences to local contractors.
The council wants to make sure that it doesn't exclude outside contractors.
