A former Baylis firefighter accused of setting fire to a trailer home will get a brief release from jail in the coming days.
Michael Rohn, 20, was arrested March 24 after he set fire to a trailer at 210 Cedar St. in Baylis, police and firefighters said.
Rohn was arrested following an investigation by the Pike County Sheriff's Department and the Illinois State Fire Marshal.
Rohn appeared in court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing where a judge granted him a July 16 furlough for a doctor's appointment. His arraignment is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.
A judge also denied Rohn's request to reduce his $10,000 bond. He remains lodged in the Pike County Jail.
