NORTHEAST MISSOURI -- North East Community Action Corporation (NECAC) is out of summer energy assistance money.

Funds from The Energy Crisis Intervention program were supposed to last until September 30th but the demand this summer has been very high.

The program gives qualified people up to $300 to pay overdue utility bills.

So far the program has handed out more than $450,000.

NECAC officials don't expect to get more funds.
