Arrest made in Keokuk house fire

KEOKUK, IOWA -- Police arrested a Keokuk man Wednesday in connection with a suspicious fire.

Daniel Lee Savage, 23, of 1423 Franklin St. is charged with second-degree arson.

Savage is accused of setting fire to a neighboring abandoned home at 1417 Franklin St.

Firefighters were called to the home about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

There was no electricity connected to the home at the time of the fire.

The Keokuk Fire Department turned the case over to the police department who made the arrest Wednesday morning.

Savage remains in the Lee County Jail.

He faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
