QUINCY, ILL. -- Quincy-based Titan International Inc. reported record sales and profits for the second quarter.
Titan's second quarter report showed sales of $459.2 million, a 14 percent increase from the 2011 second quarter. The company's gross profits were up 29 percent.
CEO Maurice Taylor explained that the company's record profits would have been higher but high temperatures affected production.
Titan also recently announced that it approached the board of Titan Europe to possibly acquire shares of the European company.
