Second year for Orange concert in the Park

QUINCY, ILL. -- A great time for fun and family.

That's what the organizers of the second annual Orange Concert in the Park, called Friday night's event at Washington Park in downtown Quincy.

The event was hosted by the Crossing Church and featured three of it's bands.

The music was a mix of contemporary Christian and pop favorites.

Organizer Kory Hollensteiner say the name, Orange Concert, also has a special meaning for families.

"It's basically the light of the church is yellow and the red, the heart of the church. We bring it together and it makes orange. So we really, uh, that's our whole philosophy in our church and we want to make sure it's an opportunity for families to come together," Hollensteiner said.

Several local restaurants also catered the event.

Organizers are already excited about next year's concert.
