BURLINGTON, IOWA -- The Burlington Police Department has identified the victim in a fatal shooting last week.
Officers found 33-year-old Crystal Newman dead Thursday, in a home on 8th Street after being called to the home to check the welfare of occupants after a domestic dispute.
When police arrived, they found the woman dead inside the locked residence. No one else was at home when police arrived.
Newman had a gunshot wound but officials have not determined a cause of death.
The children living at the residence were not hurt.
