MACOMB, ILL. -- The Macomb City Council will discuss the city's downtown forgivable loan program during the meeting Monday night.

Currently, building owners in the historic district can apply for a forgivable loan to complete facade work, with the city kicking in 50 percent of the project cost.

According to the McDonough County Voice, now the city is considering upping its percentage to 60 or 65 percent, with a project maximum of $20 thousand dollars.

The city sets aside $50 thousand dollars per year for the forgivable loan program.
