JACKSONVILLE, ILL. -- A Jacksonville college is asking the city for a liquor license ... in hopes of curbing alcohol abuse on campus.
Illinois College wants to open a new dining center called "EinStein," which would allow students of legal drinking age to purchase no more than two beers with a meal.
According to the Jacksonville Journal Courier, the school says the campus restaurant will show students that drinking in moderation with a meal is socially acceptable, while binge drinking is not.
No vote yet ... as City Council members wait for the college to present a more complete plan before creating a restaurant license.
The restaurant would only serve beer along with German and American dishes that could not be paid for by a dining card.
