KEOKUK, IOWA -- A 19-year-old Keokuk man is in jail in what investigators call an arrest into a large methamphetamine manufacturing conspiracy.

Alan Westermeyer of High Street is charged with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine in excess of five grams and purchase of two packages of pseudoephedrine within a 24-hour period.

He faces up to 25 years in state prison if convicted.

The arrest stems from an ongoing investigation by the Lee County Narcotics Task Force.

More arrests are expected.

This is the eighth arrest in the larger investigation.
