QUINCY, ILL. -- A 24-year-old man has been air lifted to a Springfield hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest after an alleged suicide attempt.

Shots were reported around 9:20 p.m. Tuesday night at 528 Grant Drive. That's in the Indian Hills housing project on Quincy's southwest side.

On arrival, Quincy police discovered the victim and a gun a short distance from site of the shooting.

The shooting allegedly occurred after a domestic dispute.
