DES MOINES, IOWA (AP) -- Iowa is bracing for another round of snow, and it could get heavy.
The National Weather Service says a storm system moving out of Colorado will move into Iowa Thursday night and Friday.
Much of the state can expect a chance of snow, with the highest amounts over southern and eastern Iowa.
Two to 5 inches is expected over the southeast half of the state, with the potential for 8 inches in a broad area in eastern Iowa, from Fairfield through the Quad Cities.
A winter storm watch remains in effect for Thursday night through Friday morning for the southeast third of Iowa.
A snow advisory is posted for extreme southwest Iowa.
