NAUVOO, ILL. -- It was a fun-filled afternoon of grape stomping in Nauvoo Monday.

The third annual Purple Feet Grape Stomp took place at Baxter's Vineyard in conjunction with the Grape Festival.

People of all ages took part in the event, stomping on as many Concord grapes as possible to make grape juice.

Visitors to the area could also take a walk around inside and sample various products from the winery.

"We just started harvest a few weeks ago, so it's been really fun to get the grapes and get people to come out and experience this," Emily Ludolph with Baxter's Vineyard said.

"We recently moved into a Baxter home that Lillian Steiner lived in and it's a beautiful home and it's been exciting to learn about the Baxters and the history and the Icarian background here, in Nauvoo," Marie Allen said.

Nauvoo's weekend Grape Festival also included a carnival, mud volleyball, a 5K Run/Walk, parades, tractor pulls, a car show, and of course, wine tasting.
