SPRINGFIELD, ILL. (AP) -- Employees in the Illinois Department of Revenue are getting a jump on their holiday weekend Friday because of a problem with a building sprinkler system.
An agency spokeswoman says repairing the problem in the Willard Ice Building in Springfield requires at least a partial shutdown of the building's sprinkler system and fire alarm.
About 1,300 employees work in the building on a typical day, although officials say far fewer were at work when the evacuation was ordered around 10 a.m.
