FORT MADISON, IOWA -- Two Fort Madison men face felony and misdemeanor drug charges after an investigation looked into allegations of a strong chemical odor coming from 1203 23rd Street in Fort Madison.
Roger Traman, 71, and Brett Traman, 23, both of that address, were arrested on August 31 when a search warrant was served and items supporting the charges were discovered.
Roger Traman faces charges of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine in excess of five grams within 1000 feet of a school, a class B felony with a special enhancement, possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor, and maintaining a drug house, an aggravated misdemeanor. Brett Traman faces charges of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine in excess of five grams within 1000 feet of a school second or subsequent offense, a class B felony with two special enhancements, possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor, and maintaining a drug house, an aggravated misdemeanor.
If convicted, Roger Traman faces up to 32 years and 30 days in a state correctional facility, while Brett Traman, if convicted, could face up to 82 years and 30 days in a state correctional facility.
The Lee County Attorney’s Office, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, and the Fort Madison Police Department assisted the Lee County Narcotics Task Force in this investigation.
