PALMYRA, MO. -- Former Palmyra High School teacher Randall Shepard pleaded guilty to charges related to an inappropriate sexual relationship with a student.

The former assistant football coach was charged in an investigation that began in January.

An agreement with the Marion County prosecutor allowed Shepard to plead guilty to a lesser charge.

Marion County Circuit Judge Rachel Bringer sentenced Shepard to five years in prison.
