QUINCY, ILL. -- What would you like to see in the next superintendent of Quincy Public Schools?

That was the topic of discussion Wednesday night at a public meeting at Quincy Senior High School.

Representatives from a search firm called, School Exec Connect, met with the public to get its input on the qualities they feel is important in the school district's next leader.

Less than a dozen people turned out for the meeting.

When asked what's the most important quality of a superintendent, the audience answered honesty, integrity and a willingness to take on a challenge.

"I think it's important that Quincy schools get a good superintendent," Quincy resident Kurt Leimbach said. " We have a great school system here. We need someone to maintain that quality and everyone's going to have their own concern, but it's a great school system. We've had great leadership in the past, and we want to make sure we have that in the future."

Community members also are invited to complete a confidential online survey to give their input on the superintendent search.
