QUINCY, ILL. -- Quincy residents don't have to wait for "spring cleaning" to get rid of unwanted trash. They can do it this weekend for free.

It's all part of the annual citywide cleanup Saturday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the empty lot on Front and Delaware streets.

Allied Waste Services was contracted by the city to conduct the annual cleanup.

To access the disposal site, use Payson Avenue starting at Sixth Street heading west towards Front Street. From there, the Quincy Police Department and Allied Waste will be directing cars to the disposal area.

Residents will be required to show proof of a Quincy address.

The City of Quincy offers this event every year for residents to get rid of items that aren't normally collected in weekly garbage pick up.

Will you take advantage on Saturday? Tell us what items you look forward to clearing out! Post your comments below or on our Facebook page here.
