QUINCY, ILL. -- Hundreds of people received their flu shot Sunday afternoon without getting out of their car.

The Adams County Health Department held a drive thru flu shot clinic at John Wood Community College from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Adults got their flu shot while sitting in their car, while children and families had a special area of their own inside the gym.

"It's been great actually. We've had a really great turnout today. They weather has cooperated, it's been beautiful. People have talked to us and told us how convenient it was, just to drive through and get this taken care of," Joanna Bunch, with the health department said.

The flu shots cost $20 for adults and $10 for children. Everyone, especially pregnant women and children over six-months-old are encouraged to get immunized.

Find a complete list of future clinic information at the Adams County Health Department website or call 222-8440.

Last year, the Adams County Health Dept. administered more than 500 shots during the flu shot clinic.
