QUINCY, ILL. -- Baldwin Middle School along with John Wood Community College hosted their 27th annual Ag Day. The event took place in the back parking lot of Baldwin, where there were stations set up by students from the John Wood Community College Agriculture Club.

Each station was equipped with either livestock, farming machinery, or a lesson on natural resources. Students attended each station during their school day.

Many of the students running the different stations have grown up in the agriculture life.

Justin Rehmeier grew up working at a hog farm in Missouri. He is now the president of the agriculture club at John Wood. Rehmeier thinks that Ag Day does a good job teaching the children where all of their food on their dinner plates comes from.

Mike Tenhouse is a coordinator of agriculture business at John Wood. Tenhouse said it is important for students at Baldwin Middle School get a first hand look at the many basic aspects of agriculture.
