WEST POINT, ILLINOIS -- A 46-year-old Hancock County Illinois man is facing felony drug charges after police caught him harvesting marijuana plants.

Hancock County Sheriff Scott Bentzinger reports that Robert L. Vonburg was arrested after police set up surveillance on a field containing a marijuana patch near West Point, Illinois and saw him picking the marijuana.

Thirty marijuana plants along with some other harvested marijuana and a gun were seized at the scene.

The street value of the marijuana was placed just over $135,000.

Vonburg faces charges of unlawful manufacture of cannabis, possession of cannabis and possession of a firearm by a felon.
