Sex conviction lands Paloma man in prison

MT. STERLING, ILL. -- A Paloma man was sentenced to 44 months in the Department of Corrections as a result of two felony sexual assault charges.

Wednesday, Michael Winfield was found guilty of aggravated sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony, and sexual relations within families, a Class 3 felony.

Along with the 44 month prison sentence, Winfield received two years of mandatory supervised release for the aggravated sexual abuse charge and 30 months of probation for the sexual relations within families charge to take place after he he is done with the mandatory supervision.

Mount Sterling police officers arrested Winfield on September 15, 2011.

Winfield was held in the Schuyler County Jail.
