ILLINOIS (AP) -- Although it was non binding, 10 counties overwhelming told Illinois lawmakers that they wanted carrying a concealed weapon to be legal in Illinois.

Those counties included Adams, Schuyler and McDonough County.

Illinois is the only state in the union were it is illegal to carry a concealed weapon.

Last year the Illinois House voted down a bill supporting legalization.

And Governor Quinn has promised that he will veto any bill legalizing concealed weapons that comes across his desk.
