Quincy mayor John Spring is expected to formally announce his bid for Quincy mayor this Monday.

QUINCY, ILL. -- Quincy mayor John Spring is expected to formally announce his bid for Quincy mayor this Monday.

The announcement will take place at 9:30 a.m. at the Abraham Lincoln Monument in Washington Park.

The democrat has been in office since 2005.

Quincy alderman Kyle Moore is expected to formally announce his bid for Quincy mayor tomorrow at the Elks Lodge.

The republican has been on the city council since April 2009.

The city clerk's office has said that Former Quincy Tea Party leader, Steve McQueen and John Wood Community College trustee, Reggie Coleman have also picked up petitions.

Quincy resident Roger Davis has also picked up a petition to run as an independent.
