QUINCY, ILL. -- A water main break flooded the road near Broadway and 24th streets.

The break happened about 1:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

A cause for the break will not be released until Monday.

Quincy's Department of Central Services worked to correct the problem as eastbound Broadway was brought down to one lane for repair of the water main.

After the water main is repaired, a 48 hour boil order will be in effect for those who live on Broadway from 22nd to 24th.
