PIKE COUNTY, ILL. -- A contract dispute between Pike County Illinois ambulance employees and the county is headed back to the bargaining table.

County Board Chairman Andy Borrowman said the board neared an agreement earlier this week, but a dispute arose over wording in the proposed contact.

The board and union representatives will meet with an arbitrator 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The Operating Engineers Local 965 is representing the ambulance employees.

The contract would call for retroactive raises for employees, and Borrowman says that if the contract is ratified, the county could cut some services or draw from other areas of the budget.

The contract will call for two-percent raises for the 2012 and 2013 fiscal year.
