HANNIBAL, MO. -- Local business owners are meeting at Hannibal City Hall Monday night to voice their opinions about a federally granted street renovation.

The meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. and is open to the public.

Currently, the project that would renovate Main Street to comply with ADA guidelines has a few business owners worried about the design.

The project includes putting in new sidewalks that level out the east and west side of the street.

When work was stopped on the project, the west side of the street had just been put in to include two levels, which caused concern about people's safety.

City officials hope the meeting on Monday will produce a consensus that everyone can live with and let the project continue to move forward.

Federal, state, and local funds are funding the eight hundred and twenty-eight thousand dollar project.

Will you attend the meeting? What do you think about the split level sidewalk? Post your comment below or visit our Facebook page here and join the conversation!
