HANNIBAL, MO -- The former director of a Hannibal children's charity may avoid prison time for stealing money from the organization.

Rhonda Oswalt, 47,  pleaded guilty last year to taking $52,000 from the Blue Ryno Foundation's books.

That theft crippled the Blue Ryno Foundation, a non-profit organized by former Major League Baseball player Ryan Klesko which helps children with cancer.

Tuesday a judge sentenced Oswalt to 15 years in prison, with that sentence stayed if she can pay back the money she stole during a five year probation term.

She could avoid prison all together if she pays back the charity in that time.

Oswalt has already paid back 15 thousand dollars of the money she stole.

Oswalt served as event coordinator in Hannibal for the California-based organization until her arrest in August 2011.
