Teen jailed in Indian Mounds stabbing

QUINCY, ILL. -- A 16-year-old boy wanted in a Nov. 11 stabbing is in jail.

The boy was arrested about 2:50 p.m. Tuesday after police received a tip through their Crime Stoppers hotline.

The teen was arrested on several charges including unlawful use of a weapon, possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of cannabis with intent to deliver and aggravated battery.

Police received a tip that the boy was spotted in a local business. Police followed him and eventually arrested him in the parking lot of the post office on 36th and Locust streets.

A .22 caliber handgun and drugs were found in the car during his arrest, according to the Quincy police.

He was placed in the Adams County Juvenile Detention Center.

The initial incident happened at the Indian Hills Housing Complex near 8th and Harrison streets.

The victim was also a juvenile. The name of the boy arrested and his victim were not released due to their ages.
