Investigation nets arrest in Burlington arson

BURLINGTON, IOWA -- A Burlington man in jail an arson charge in connection with a Dec. 18 house fire.

David F. Good, 45, is charged with arson in the first degree and is being held at the Des Moines County Jail on a $25,000 bond. A police report says he was homeless at the time of his arrest.

Firefighters were dispatched at 11:17 p.m. to the home at 1806 Madison Ave.

The house was engulfed when they arrived and they managed to get the blaze under control within an hour.

Zach Ream, the owner of the house, was not home at the time the fire started. The house was occupied by Nina Good and her son Adam Messner. Both were able to escape without injury.
