Damaged vehicle left unattended following single-car crash

ADAMS COUNTY, ILL. -- The Adams County Sheriff's Department continues to investigate what led to a damaged vehicle left unattended Sunday afternoon.

Sheriff's deputies found the vehicle on the side of the roadway near S. 36th St. and Ghost Hollow Rd. just before noon on Sunday.

The vehicle showed major damage. Witnesses reported seeing a white male leaving the SUV on foot. When deputies arrived, the vehicle was unattended.

They later discovered the vehicle had previously run off the road near S. 24th St. and Keller Lane.
