MENDON, ILL. -- More than a thousand people brought their appetites to the area's biggest charity breakfast Saturday morning.

Pork-A-Rama has been a staple of Tri-State tradition for 56 years.

This event is put on by the Ursa Lions Club at Unity High School in Mendon each year.

Pork products of all kinds are the main event at this breakfast. Families and friends were welcome to sit down, enjoy a pork filled breakfast, or take some home to cook at a later date.

"It's a historical event. Fifty-six years. People just love to come out and just support it and we have a super quality product every year. We get nothing but rave reviews from the community on the product that we provide," Alan Duesterhaus, a 2013 chairman said.

The Lions Club makes around seven thousand dollars in profits from the event each year to use for charities, including one for visually and hearing impaired children.
