KIRKSVILLE, MO -- The bond has been doubled now for Kirksville's Vicente Soto, 25, who was recently apprehended by police when he did not return to jail from a doctor's appointment.

Soto, who was originally held on $25,000 cash only bond, has seen that bond go to $50,000 cash only.

Soto is charged with two felonies and three misdemeanors after he allegedly led authorities on a high-speed chase through Missouri's Macon, Linn and Livingston counties in a stolen limo.

Soto was released from the Macon County Jail Friday before last so his mother could take him to the doctor. She called the Macon County Sheriff's office later that day and said she had "lost" her son.

He was taken back in to custody the next day after authorities received a tip about someone walking along the railroad tracks near Elmer.

Soto waived his preliminary hearing Thursday in Macon County Associate Court, and his case was moved to circuit court. His next court appearance is set for Feb.13.
