QUINCY, ILL. -- Ameren crews responded to the source of a power outage on South 30th in Quincy behind the community of Country Club Heights.

The outage was caused by tree limbs blown down by high winds.

Approximately thirty-five hundred households were left without power.

Ameren reported that the majority of the power would be restored by around 10:30 p.m.

KHQA's Chief Meteorologist Mike Cole tells us that peak wind gusts so far Sunday in Quincy have been 41 mph.

Winds will stay high Sunday night and decrease by Monday afternoon and evening.
