Hannibal City Council prepares for boating season

HANNIBAL, MO. -- The City of Hannibal is moving forward with plans for more dredging at the Hannibal marina.

According to the Hannibal Courier Post, Council members approved an $81 thousand dollar contract with IWS Dredging Tuesday night.

Officials say Nipper Park Marina needs immediate dredging in order to continue to operate at normal pool levels during the upcoming boating season.

Normally the marina should have a depth of 5 or 6 feet. Right now there's only a few inches of water or dry ground in some areas.
