DES MOINES, IOWA (AP) -- The Iowa Egg Council is making a $2 million donation to establish an egg industry program at Iowa State University.
Officials with the Urbandale-based council say the monetary commitment will create an endowed program at the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. It will address needs of the industry, by developing new ideas and technology.
The council says a proposal for the egg industry center will be sent to the Iowa Board of Regents for approval in the spring.
