QUINCY, ILL. -- Changes could be on the way for a sign at 5100 Broadway in Quincy.

The Zoning Board of Appeals denied a request by Steve Brink and Sit Tight, Inc. to increase the area of a pole sign in front of the new Texas Roadhouse and Bed, Bath and Beyond.

Monday night, the Quincy City Council voted to overrule the ZBA's denial and move forward to draft an ordinance.

A representative for Brink and Sit Tight, Inc. spoke before the council voted.

"I believe this request is good for business, and when we have things that are good for our businesses, they trickle down to the rest of the community," Christopher D. Schuering said. "For those reasons, I would request that you reconsider and overrule the ZBA."

The council is expected to vote on the ordinance next week.
