QUINCY, ILL. -- The Quincy Chamber of Commerce has announced the theme of the 2013 Dogwood Festival.
The theme “Celebrating the Champion in Us All” has been chosen for this year's Dogwood Parade.
The festival weekend is slated for May 3-5 and will include Block Parties, a parade down Maine Street, and activities in Washington Park, among others.
“The Quincy area is full of winners,” says Chamber Executive Director Amy Looten, citing the success of hometown natives Jack Cornell (member of Super Bowl XLVII Champions Baltimore Ravens) and Luke Guthrie (Quincy’s newest PGA player), Miss Quincy/Miss Illinois Megan Ervin (who finished in the top 10 in the Miss America Pageant), multiple to high school state champions and numerous businesses that have been honored with national awards."
Organizations that wish to host a special event connected with Dogwood should call the Chamber to get their event on the master calendar.
