A body was removed from a Hannibal motel Wednesday morning around 9 a.m.
Marion County Sheriff and acting coroner Jimmy Shinn confirmed the body was that of a 63-year-old white male. He also says the death is being called suspicious. No further details have been released.
Multiple police cars responded to the Best Way Inn at 612 Mark Twain Ave. close to 8 a.m.
The Hannibal Police Department has not released any information about the incident although police detained one man for questioning.
James O'Donnell Funeral Home removed the body from the hotel, according to a report from the scene.
At least five police cars were at the scene as officers combed the area for evidence.
An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
