QUINCY, ILL. -- Wednesday's Quincy School Board meeting turned out to be a lot less dramatic than in years past.

The board voted to cut 13 paraeducators and three certified staff positions as a part of budget cuts.

That compares to 34 positions and 32 duties that were cut at this time last year.

The board also voted to move its special alternative school program back in house.

That program will be located on the lower level of the district office.

The central office will be reorganized to make up for the loss of three administrators who are either retiring or taking another job.

Those reorganized positions will be posted Thursday.

The board also voted to allow the school's new superintendent to start earlier than originally intended.

Steven Cobb will begin April 15th.
