BOWEN, ILL. -- This is a KHQA Alert.  Students wer evacuated from Southeastern Junior High in Bowen, IL Tuesday because of a gas leak in the building.

School officials tell KHQA the gas has been shut off, and there is no safety hazard at this time.

Students and staff were taken across the street to the United Methodist Church in Bowen.

School officials have not made a decision when they will reopen the school.
