JEFFERSON CITY, MO. (AP) -- The late business tycoon and Kansas City Chiefs owner Lamar Hunt joins the ranks of famous Missourians.
Hunt was inducted into the Hall of Famous Missourians on Wednesday. Hunt helped bring professional teams to Kansas City, came up with the name "Super Bowl" and created two amusement parks.
Hunt died in December 2006. Clark Hunt helped unveil his father's bust.
The bust calls Hunt "the founding father of professional sports in the United States." It will be permanently displayed in the Capitol.
It's the ninth hall of fame of which Hunt is a member.
House Speaker Rod Jetton selected Hunt for his latest honor.
Others already in the hall include war heroes and Mickey Mouse creator Walt Disney.
