MACON, MO. -- The Columbia Police Department has located Nevaeh Rose Colton unharmed and Joshua Lambert is now in custody.

Authorities asked for the public's help in order to find the northeast Missouri girl who was taken by her non-custodial father.

The Macon County Sheriff's Office said Nevaeh Rose Colton, 4, of Macon went to Columbia, Missouri with her dad on Monday morning.

He was supposed to return the little girl to her mother in Macon at 5 p.m. Monday, but he didn't.

Authorities issued an arrest warrant for Lambert. He was wanted on a charge of parental kidnapping.

Investigators had reason to believe he and Nevaeh could have been headed to Louisiana or Texas.

The FBI assisted in the case.

More information will be released when available.
