RUSHVILLE, ILL. -- UPDATED: May 28 at 9:54 p.m.

The Marion County Water District is also asking its customers to conserve water until further notice.

The water towers are not filling up to capacity at this time.

Hickory Kerton Water Co-Op customers in Rushville are asked to conserve water until further notice.

Customers should not to fill pools, wash cars, water their gardens and only do laundry as needed.

The cause of the water shortage is not known right now.

About 900 customers are affected.
