Twinkies, Ding Dongs and Fruit Pie sales continue to skyrocket as Hostess Brands Inc. chains across the country begin to close.

The Butternut Thrift Store, at 1438 N. 24th St., in Quincy will close its doors indefinitely Monday at 4 p.m. Staff say the national closure will leave them jobless and without many options.

The Hostess Outlet store, at 622 E. Jackson St., in Macomb will also close on Tuesday. The McDonough Voice spoke to staff who said the store's Twinkies sold out Friday afternoon, but Wonder Bread and other Hostess products were still available. The store began its liquidation sale Saturday. Click here to read the full story from The McDonough County Voice.

The Hostess Brands closure follows a nationwide strike of the company's largest union, the Bakery, Confectionary, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union. Hostess said the strike crippled production at its plants.
