QUINCY, ILL. -- Prom dresses and bridal gowns took the spotlight at the Union United Methodist Church in Quincy Saturday.

The church held its first annual prom dress consignment sale with help from staff at Maid For A Day. It offered teenage girls and brides-to-be a chance to buy discounted dresses and accessories.

More than 100 dresses lined the racks for the Glass Slipper event, ranging from the latest fashions to vintage.

"I hope to help benefit the church and assisting others and to help girls who can't afford a brand new dress. We have gently used dresses that have been worn once. We also have dresses with tags still on them," Cari French, with Maid For A Day said.

If you missed Saturday's event, you still have a chance to find that perfect dress. You need to call and make an appointment in the next couple of months before the dresses get sent elsewhere. Contact Cari at 217-224-5555.
